Alvin and the Chipmunks Scare-Riffic Double Feature
I recently got this dvd at Wal*Mart. Yes, I know I work there and spend most of my money there too.
I already think I should just move in. It would save on rent/gas and such.
However, let's get to the point.
This DVD contains two movie-length "Alvin and the Chipmunks" monster adventures. The first, "Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein". Originally released in 1999 this is a wonderful animated film that will delight adult fans who grew up with the chipmunks (there's even a roller-coaster scene that shows the Chipmunks as they appeared in the 1950's and 1960's) and will also be fast-paced and contemporary enough for twenty-first century kids. Parents need not worry about language, there is cartoon violence, and some scenes may be too scary for very young children (especially the opening sequence in black and white). On the upside there are nice lessons about friendship and not judging by the cover.
The second monster mash, entitled "Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman", features three lively songs, but the story doesn't move quiet as well and the appeal for an older audience isn't as strong as the first feature. Nevertheless, parents and adult fans will be able to make it through without resenting it. This one is probably a bit more scary for young children and even elementary school kids may need to rehear "there's no such things as monsters" after viewing.

Episode 5: “No Chipmunk is an Island”
The Chipmunks decide they all need their own rooms. Once Dave accommodates them and the boys are "on their own" for a night, they each have outrageous, hilarious dreams of the perfect life, without their brothers horning in! Only they discover that maybe they do need each other after all.

Episode 4: “Nightmare on Seville Street”
Things really go bump in the night at bedtime after The Chipmunks disobey Dave and see a hideous horror film!
I say they should just blame Alvin for it. He's the one who made them watch the horror film.
It's also funny, because Alvin ends up being scared the longest!

Episode 3: “Theodore's Life as a Dog”
During a full moon, something strange hounds the Seville household. Has Theodore turned into a weredog?! Alvin is up to his old tricks, this time he's tricked Theodore into eating a dog biscuit! Well Simon and Theodore conspire to put one over on Alvin! They convince Alvin that he's caused Theodore to become a real dog. The fun and hi jinks Simon and Theodore put Alvin through will make you roll with laughter.

One dark, stormy night the Chipmunks find themselves in the care of a terse and ominous looking babysitter. Alvin swears she's just like the babysitter in that horror movie they watched! Are the Chipmunks done for?
The babysitter is a bit on the freaky side...

Episode 1: “Trick or Treason”
Join Alvin and his brothers Simon and Theodore for this hilarious Halloween adventure. Alvin wants to be accepted into the Monster Club, but the Monster members seem to think it’s cool to be cruel. It takes Theodore’s friendship with Michael, a misunderstood outcast the other kids call Pumpkinhead, to show Alvin that being a true friend is really a lot more cool than trying to be a popular Monster! There are plenty of laughs and surprises – and music, including the Chipmunk’s rendition of the hit song “Monster Mash” – to make this a monstrously fun video any time of the year!
